The Senior Accountant is responsible for key accounting functions within the Gulf (including ROG countries), with a strong involvement in planning and control.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide accounting support on product automations and system set ups.
Lead and collaborate with other departments to optimize financial operations and provide financial/accounting support and guidance.
Ensure that proper books and records are kept and comply with generally accepted accounting principles and that overall policies are followed, with key focus on:
Support on balance sheet reconciliations and certifications.
Monthly Expense analysis and reporting for key expenses.
Preparation and upload of monthly PeopleSoft Vouchers.
Product accounting and user acceptance testing.
Reinsurance accounting and reporting
Third Party Administration accounting and accrual
Collaborate with other departments wherever deemed necessary.
Lead projects which are deemed important for Finance and the company overall.
Support the timely period end closing process including review of month end closing journals prepared by other teams (e.g., COE, Individual Claims)
Prepare monthly variance analysis and provide explanations for significant variances.
Preparation of Quarterly USGAAP/STAT- Analytical reports.
Preparation of monthly MIS reports.
Conduct continuous review of reports and identify opportunities for improvements.
Ensure and maintain internal controls to prevent and/or detect any irregularities in the recording and reporting of financial transactions.
Coordinate activities of independent auditors, participate in resolving all audit issues, ensure all compliance issues are met, and participate in the preparation of the annual financial statements and regulatory returns in accordance with local and other required supplementary schedules and information.
