The Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting the company's financial data. This role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and assisting with audits and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update financial records and ledgers.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Prepare and submit tax returns and other statutory filings on time.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or CPA) is a plus.
Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle NetSuite).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Good communication and organizational skills.
