Wood is currently looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join its team, this role can be based in Abu Dhabi.
The objective of this role is to ensure all accounting entries within the individuals area of control (i.e. project, contract, service line) are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. This involves the provision of timely reporting of financial data internally to business stakeholders and externally to the client. Furthermore, financial reporting will extend to forecasts, budgets and a \'no surprise\' outlook, together with ad-hoc financial analysis. This may require the management of a small team of accountants and this role is appropriate for larger more significant projects, contracts or service lines.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Management of all accounting entries to ensure they are prepared accurately and in line with corporate deadlines
Management of invoices to ensure they are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with commercial terms of the contract
Ensure results are accurately reported and analysed
Effective management of the accounting team
calculation of billing and cost rates, and analysis of margins to manage profitability
Preparation and management of annual plan and quarterly reforcecast in conjunction with Business Management and Finance team
Responsibility for compliance with Financial management Framework within the individuals sphere of control
Focus on cash collection, optimisation of DSO and minimisation of unbilled items together with ensuring these balance sheet areas are appropriately reconciled, analyst and controller
Liaising with external, internal and client auditors
Linkage with business manager and contracts administrator regarding any contractual aspects
Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required
Co-ordination of expat and national payroll
Focal point for the Delhi Accounting, AR and payments team.
Statutory accountants reconciliation and compliance
Liaising with external professional service providers on EMES related matters.
Responsible for day to day entity activities
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
Further education through College or University with a recognised accounting qualification
Preferably working towards CIMA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Industry project accounting experience
Proficient user of Excel
People supervision and management skills
Good commercial knowldge
Good systems experience (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion)

Shows willingness to make improvements and shares best practice
Good comunication skills both verbal and written
Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation
