Specialist Educator for Exceptionally Bright Child with SEN (Autism with PDA)



Location: Sustainable City, Dubai

Schedule: 4 days/week Approx. 4-6 hours per day to start (starting around 9:00 AM)

Salary: 8,000-12,000 AED/month (depending on experience)

Curriculum: Loosely based on the British Curriculum We are seeking a

creative, passionate, and highly skilled Governess or Specialist Educator

to work one-on-one with an exceptional 8 year old boy with

Autism

and

Pathological Demand Avoidance

(PDA), who has experienced extended school refusal. This is a home-based role, supporting an intelligent and articulate child currently in

Year 4.



The goal is to reignite his love of learning, build trust, and gradually reintroduce learning and structure in a way that honors his needs, interests, and pace.

About the Student British family following a British curriculum Verbal, highly cognitive, and passionate about Math's, Science, and History Struggles with English and writing tasks

Diagnosed Autism with

PDA profile, Sensory

and

nervous system regulation

are key areas of support Attends occupational therapy (OT) and meets with a psychologist (working on regulation and self-understanding)

Role Overview:

We are

not

looking for someone to replicate a traditional teaching programme inside the home, but rather someone who can:

Think outside the box

to independently plan and deliver an enhanced curriculum in a highly engaging, interest-led, low-demand way

Wrap learning objectives in creative activities

tailored to the child's interests and passions

Build a strong, trusting relationship

before focusing on academics Focus on core subjects to start, increasing the breadth of subjects in time based on the child's pace and engagement

Be flexible and work collaboratively

with the child to develop structure and timetables together, gaining trust and buy-in

Plan and implement off-site experiences

and activities that make learning real and meaningful

Collaborate with parents and therapists

to create a consistent and supportive environment Implement a monitoring / reporting system with evidencing, to communicate progress to the parents and wider support team

Be flexible, patient, emotionally intelligent,

and confident in when to gently challenge and when to step back Ideal
Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Primary/Elementary Teacher or equivalent experience Experience with Autism and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) is essential Skilled in sensory regulation and emotional regulation support Creative, patient, and confident in tailoring content to a learner's interests and emotional state Passionate about helping neurodivergent children rediscover joy in learning Excellent communicator and team player, able to work with family and external professionals Male or Female applicants welcome
Details Start time: Around 9:00 AM (flexible)

Days: 4 days per week Hours: 4-6 hours, to be built up gradually based on child's levels of engagement

Location: Sustainable City, Dubai Salary: 8,000-12,000 AED per month (based on experience/ open to discuss)

Driving license and own visa preferred but not essential

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED14,000.00 per month
