Job Overview
Responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Security procedures within Bahrain Hub thus ensuring a secure and safe workplace.
Main Responsibilities
Customers
- Liaise with Bahrain Customs in fulfilling customs requirements
- Liaise with Airport Police in the implementation of Aviation Security procedures
- Assist Hub Operations and Customer Services whenever required for completing operational tasks
Accountabilities
- Support Security Supervisors in the implementation of security procedures
- Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies in routine screening activities performed by the cargo screeners
- Monitor access to the facility and ensure it is controlled in accordance with security procedures and that visitors and staff are displaying their ID/Airport badges.
- Take the necessary corrective action against unauthorised access.
- Ensure Explosive Trace Detection procedures are carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor screening of HRCM to ensure compliance to EU standards
- Ensure security personnel carry out correct procedures of all DHL vehicles leaving the facility
- Ensure leaving vehicle carrying cargo should either be accompanied by an authorized load manifest or Customs Release Certificate.
- All vehicle movements are input in NMIV.
- Ensure regulatory compliance to EU/TSA/BCAA regulations
- Ensure all GSOP/TAPA procedures are adhered to.
- Investigate any incident of lost property reported by the employees or visitors.
- Assist in investigation of shipment related queries and update in SCMS
- Arrange searches/sealing of aircrafts wherever required
- Advice to stations and supervisors of procedural discrepancies.
- Carry out Quality Control checks to ensure compliance with TAPA/GSOP/Quality/Safety policies
- Ensuring a secure and safe transit/processing of high value goods
- Timely communication with all stakeholders
Security Inspection
- Monitor security screening of the personal belongings of employees, visitors and contractors entering or leaving the operations area.
- Deploy security personnel for X- ray screening of DHL shipments and use of trace detection equipment where required. Ensure appropriate checkpoints are captured
- Ensure cargo or mail to which security controls have been applied are protected from unauthorized interference
- Ensure all external doors and offices are secured.
- Report any prohibited items or suspected dangerous goods identified during the screening process
- Inform origin/destination/Hub CS when prohibited/restricted commodities are intercepted
Security Standards
- Know facility’s fire & evacuation procedures and support building warden in case of evacuation
- Ensure availability of appropriate types of fire extinguishers at key positions within the facility
- Periodic checks on physical condition validity & working of fire equipment
- Apply first aid or EFR as and when needed and be aware of the location of the fully stocked first aid kits.
- Report on any hazard that might potentially cause fire, damage or report any part of the building that requires maintenance.
Education & Experience Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience with DHL Security preferred
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent
- Ex Police, Airport Security, or Armed Forces personnel, Airport Services in Aviation Security field, minimum 5 years’ experience is preferred
- Sufficient Security Experience
- Self-motivated and capable of doing security and other projects
- Individual leadership
