Security Officer
Reports To: Security Manager / Chief Engineer / General Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees, and property assets. The Security Officer patrols the premises, responds to incidents, and enforces property rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol & Monitoring: Conduct regular patrols of the entire property, including guest floors, back-of-house areas, parking lots, and grounds. Monitor surveillance cameras as available.
• Access Control: Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and visitors. Ensure only authorized personnel access restricted areas.
• Incident Response: Respond to emergencies (medical, fire, altercations) and security needs. Provide first aid and contact emergency services when required.
• Reporting: Write detailed and accurate incident reports for all security-related occurrences. Maintain daily activity logs.
• Policy Enforcement: Enforce hotel policies and procedures in a firm but courteous manner.
• Customer Service: Provide assistance to guests and employees, such as escorting them to their vehicles or rooms upon request.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement is an asset.
• Valid security license as required by state/local law.
• Strong observation skills and a proactive approach.
• Excellent judgment and ability to handle difficult situations calmly.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
