Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure the safety and security of customers, employees, merchandise, and property by monitoring all activities and preventing theft, loss, or unsafe behavior within the supermarket premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor entry and exit of customers, staff, and suppliers. Prevent theft, shoplifting, or any suspicious activities inside the supermarket. Conduct routine checks on CCTV surveillance systems and alert management of any unusual activity. Assist in managing crowd during rush hours or promotions. Conduct physical checks of shopping bags when required (as per company policy). Patrol the supermarket and surrounding areas regularly to ensure safety and order. Respond to alarms and emergency situations calmly and efficiently. Monitor delivery trucks and goods receiving area to prevent unauthorized access. Report daily security incidents or observations to the supervisor/branch manager. Ensure fire exits are not blocked and fire safety equipment is accessible. Assist in enforcing company rules among customers and staff when necessary.

Skills and Requirements:

Previous experience in a security or supervisory role preferred. Basic understanding of CCTV monitoring and emergency response. Good observation skills and alertness. Ability to stay calm and act quickly under pressure. Basic communication skills (English/Hindi preferred). Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for long hours. Trustworthy and disciplined behavior.
