Core Responsibilities of a Security Manager (Business Development Focus)

Security Solutions Development
Collaborate with technical and sales teams to design and package security services (e.g., manned guarding, electronic surveillance, cybersecurity).
Innovate or tailor security offerings to meet emerging client needs or industry trends.

Client Relationship Management
Engage with potential and existing clients to understand their security requirements.
Act as a subject matter expert to build trust and provide consultancy during sales processes.
Present security proposals and conduct site assessments for new business opportunities.
3.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
Research and analyze market trends, competitors, and client feedback to identify growth areas.
Help define go-to-market strategies for new security products or regions.
Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and alliances.
4.
Proposal & Bid Management
Lead or support the creation of RFP/RFQ responses, security solution proposals, and cost estimates.
Ensure proposals align with both client requirements and company capabilities.
5.
Operational Integration
Ensure smooth handover from business development to operational teams post-contract win.
Assist in onboarding processes and ensure compliance with security policies and service level agreements.
6.
Compliance & Risk Advisory
Offer insights to clients regarding security compliance (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, physical security standards).
Provide risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies as part of pre-sales engagements.
Skills & Qualities Needed
Strong understanding of both physical and digital security.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to translate technical security concepts into business language.
Analytical thinking and strategic planning.
