JOB OBJECTIVE
  • The Security Manager will be in charge of the security for Thales Emarat Technologies (TET) activities in UAE, with a possibility of an extension of his objective later on to UAE country and other Thales International Middle East entities if necessary. He will also have the objective to act as Security Officer for all Defense projects in his scope.
  • He will be the security advisor to the Country/TET Directors and projects managers.
  • He will assure that Security process complies with Thales Group procedures and Policies, including necessary reviews and approvals, and he will assure that Security process complies with IGI1300 for Defense projects.
  • He will put in place a continuous improvement process to ensure the Group\xe2\x80\x99s methodology and way of working are efficient and in line with the best practices.
  • Expert in Security questions and crisis management, he is undertaking analysis to anticipate the risks\xe2\x80\x99 evolution and manage possible side effects.
  • He will be in charge of developing and improving the internal security culture in his scope. As part of this, he will make sure the management and employees in all activities apply Security principles.
  • He will develop a good interaction and team spirit with all functions such as HR, Legal & contract, procurement, PMO, services and all the support functions, which is key to a good integration of the security questions.
  • He will be in relation with Bid teams and project managers from the BLs to ensure a perfect collaboration and a complete integration of security processes.
  • The Security Manager to TET/UAE Operations Director and functionally to functional to the Head of Security for Middle East & Saudi Arabia Regions.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Security Manager will:
  • Realize risks assessment for each entity or project under his scope and ensure regular updating of these risks assessments, in coordination with ME & Saudi Arabia Security Manager. As part of this process, he proposes, puts in place and adapts security rules to mitigate the identified risks.
  • Be able to support TET/UAE Directors and project managers in all matters relating to security (physical security, training and awareness, local processes, security communication, GDPR for security, etc.).
  • Organize and realize security training and awareness sessions, sometimes with the support of the French Embassy for Defense projects.
  • Control quality of security services provided by security suppliers in his scope, take part in the selection of security suppliers in coordination with the ME & Saudi Arabia Security Manager.
  • Define, prepare & update crisis management/Business Continuity procedures and evacuation plans.
  • Prepare and maintain a Security dashboard, reporting all necessary KPIs to monitor the performance of the Security process.
  • Identify and develop a network of useful security contacts (French embassy, western embassies, security managers of other companies, security suppliers, local security forces, etc.).
  • Seek to improve permanently the security process by implementing adapted best practices and sensitizing all involved stakeholders.
  • Interact among engineering, procurement, delivery, finance, legal and those with sign-off responsibility.
  • Interface with other Thales entities, functions and Stakeholders.
As far as his Security Officer function is concerned:
  • Write the organization\'s secrecy policy and ensure its application.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with the Information Systems Security Officer, the level of security of classified information systems.
  • Keep the job catalogue of his organization up to date by identifying with the competent authorities the functions or tasks requiring access to classified information and media, initiate authorization procedures with reference to the job catalogue and notify decisions.
  • Manage personnel clearance files and liaise with the Corporate Defense Security Officer and investigators.
  • Instruct and sensitize personnel on the protection of national defense secrecy with, where appropriate, the support of the Information Systems Security Officer.
  • Conduct administrative inquiries into access to protected areas.
  • Ensure when TET is bound by an agreement or contract providing for access to classified information and media that the contractual stipulations relating to the protection of national defense secrecy are applied.
  • Carry out internal controls and security audits relating to the management of classified information and media, the security of classified information systems and the physical fitness of places containing items covered by national defense secrecy.
  • Monitor and report to the Corporate Defense Security Officer on activities related to clearances, places containing items covered by national defense secrecy, classified information and media and information systems.
  • Report, where appropriate with the information systems security officer, via their respective functional chain on actual or suspected breaches of secrecy.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum 5-7 years of professional experience and/or involvement in Security management and/or defense topics.
  • An experience in a security position in an international environment.
  • Experience in working within multidisciplinary and multinational teams.
  • Experience in multicultural environments, especially in ME Region.
  • A professional experience in a Defense, and/or high-tech environment is not mandatory but would be a significant advantage.
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • IERSE Diploma or equivalent, Master GGRC or equivalent, ASIS Certificate.
  • Proficiency with computer applications MS Office (Word/ Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Other specific security certification could be an advantage.
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Due to the complexity of the environment, operational responsibilities and sensitivity of Group activities, the Security Manager will demonstrate a high level of soft skills and a strong leadership:
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High level of adaptability and reactivity
  • Ability to travel often and eventually without notice.
  • Leadership capability of multidisciplinary, multinational security teams or correspondents to achieve tight deadlines in a pressured environment

  • Crisis management skills
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills
  • A team player getting along well with people of different nationalities and backgrounds
  • Knowledge and experience in Thales processes is not mandatory but a significant advantage.
  • Fluent English & French, are mandatory, Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Good cultural and geo-political regional knowledge is mandatory.
