:A security guard is responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets by patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security protocols and regulations. Patrol and Monitor: Conduct regular patrols of the assigned area, premises, or facility to ensure a visible security presence and deter unauthorized activities. Use surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras and alarms to monitor activities. Access Control: Control and monitor access points, checking the identification of individuals, and ensuring that only authorized personnel or visitors gain entry. Issue visitor passes when necessary. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, such as theft, fire, or medical emergencies. Follow established protocols and procedures for handling emergencies. Report Writing: Maintain accurate and detailed records of security activities, incidents, and observations. Prepare incident reports and submit them to the appropriate authorities or supervisors. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and tenants with information, directions, and general inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor. Conflict Resolution: Intervene in and de-escalate conflicts or disputes within the premises. Use verbal communication skills to resolve issues peacefully and report incidents as necessary. Risk Assessment: Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities within the assigned area and report them to supervisors. Make recommendations for security improvements. First Aid: Provide basic first aid in case of injuries or medical emergencies until professional medical help arrives. Evacuation: Assist in evacuating the premises in case of emergencies, ensuring the safety of all occupants. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, security procedures, and relevant laws and regulations. Training: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on security techniques, emergency response procedures, and relevant laws. Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
State-required security guard license or certification.
Strong observation and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations.
Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Knowledge of security equipment and systems.
First aid and CPR certification may be required for some positions.
Prior experience in security or law enforcement is often preferred.
