Job Summary

The Security Guard will be responsible for safeguarding a private farm property, including its land, buildings, equipment, and livestock. This is a privately owned residence and agricultural property; no commercial operations or sales occur on-site. The role focuses on ensuring the safety, privacy, and security of the owner's assets, personnel, and animals.

Key Responsibilities

Property Surveillance:

Conduct regular patrols around the perimeter, buildings, and livestock areas to ensure there are no intrusions, damages, or unauthorized activities.

Access Control:

Monitor and control entry points to prevent trespassing. Record visitor details and report any suspicious individuals or vehicles.

Livestock Safety:

Keep watch over animals, ensuring they are safe from theft, predators, and other potential harm. Report any injuries or irregular behavior to the farm manager or owner.

Incident Response:

Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies such as break-ins, fires, or accidents. Take appropriate action and contact emergency services when needed.

Equipment & Asset Protection:

Safeguard farming tools, vehicles, and machinery from theft, vandalism, or misuse.

Reporting & Documentation:

Maintain daily security logs and incident reports. Document all patrols, observations, and unusual activities.

Coordination:

Work closely with property management or caretakers to ensure smooth communication regarding security updates or maintenance needs.

Requirements

Proven experience as a security guard or in a related position (preferably in rural or agricultural environments). Physical fitness and ability to conduct patrols in outdoor conditions. Basic understanding of livestock behavior and animal safety is an advantage. Good observation, communication, and reporting skills. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Must be trustworthy, reliable, and respectful of private property.

Work Conditions

Work may involve day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. The position is based on-site at the private farm property. Accommodation may be provided depending on location and arrangement.
