Section Manager Supermarkets

Job Description

We are looking for a Section Manager – Supermarkets to join our team.
You will be responsible to look after the day to day running of the supermarket section and ensure that all standards in stock, display and service are met.
  • Responsible for achieving the annual budget plan set for the financial year for the section
  • Support the store manager with formulating section forecasts on a monthly basis
  • Review and analyze current sales figures, margins, fast and slow-moving goods, shrinkage, wastage and other trends to ensure timely reaction to sales opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of competitor product offering using price surveys and customer feedback and report back to the store manager to formulate a suitable reaction
  • Determine the quantity of goods to be ordered from the suppliers
  • Analyze bestsellers in terms of price points and type to ensure that bestsellers reach their full potential, furthermore analyze slow sellers and respond accordingly
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management information system reports that cover sales, budget ratio, negative turnovers, month and year to date comparisons, hygiene and stock numbers to analyze performance with the store manager
  • Raise purchase orders for receipt of products with approval from store manager
  • Coordinate with the decoration team for provisional promotional themes regarding the section
  • Ensure that the section is ready to trade before store opening and guide the team on the same
  • Coordinate with the information and technology team regularly for pricing updates and adjustments to barcodes approved by the store manager
  • Communicate with maintenance teams for all asset repair issues
  • Ensure that stock is displayed by expiry dates and that damaged or expired goods are removed from the display area
  • Ensure the HACCP standards in the section are maintained, and ensure strict adherence to company health and safety policies throughout the section
  • Ensure that all brand guidelines and standard operating procedures are followed as mentioned in company policy manuals
People Management:
  • Motivate staff and empower direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to support section goals

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who meet the below requirements:
  • High School Degree Holder
  • Preferred 3-4 years relevant experience, qualification, training, skills and competencies required for delivering above accountabilities
  • Experience of selling through individual shops, supermarkets and local markets. Communication and customer service skills. People Management
