The role holder is responsible for delivering classroom instruction that helps students learn and excel and developing students' abilities and interest through creative activities and leading teachers.
Responsibilities
Supports the Principal, Vice Principal and Academic Supervisors in the
implementation of the campus's policies, procedures, and processes
Leads, trains, guides and supports teachers in the levels and oversees their career
development in conjunction with the Principal, Vice Principal and Academic
Supervisor, making recommendations for appropriate in-service training
Reviews the syllabus set by the Head of Departments for the level
Ensures the syllabus is completed before the stipulated date for all units, cyclic
tests and semester examinations
Conducts checks and reviews question papers for balance, modernization and
validity
Follow-up of results analysis and reporting to the Principal, Vice Principal and
Academic Supervisor
Plans the timetable and placement of teachers according to the requirements
Monitors the timetable allotment, substitution and workload distribution of the
teachers
Determines teaching staff strength and requirements in the various levels in
advance for the next semester
Reviews the teaching content and lesson plans developed by teachers at the start
of the curriculum planning process and provides inputs
Approves the review of the textbooks conducted by the Head of Departments and
Teachers
Consolidates all the reports on textbooks and lesson plans by the various Head of
Departments and Teachers, and presents report to the Academic Supervisors for
approval
Sets the annual curriculum framework and shares with the Academic Supervisors
for review, and makes revisions accordingly
Observes the Teachers in the classroom and provides feedback for improvement
Organizes class demonstrations, teaching methods, the use of aides and other
help to the teachers in the level
Monitors the performance and results of the students in the levels to determine if
learning outcomes have been achieved, and if the teaching methodologies and
contents requires any changes
Collaborates proactively with Human Resource to continuously increase
competency within the function to meet future organization's needs through the
development and recruitment of talent
Assists in the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of teachers
Skills Description
British Curriculum: 5+ years (Mandatory)
Experience setting up Secondary phase in British curriculum schools an added advantage
BA/ BEd
Degree in Special Education
