About the Role

This is a senior-level, advanced engineering role requiring a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in network design, routing & switching, and SD-WAN technologies. You will be responsible for designing and delivering cutting-edge SD-WAN and SASE solutions across diverse customer environments. You'll work across multiple vendors and technologies, engaging in both customer-facing solution design and hands-on implementation. This role is centered around creating new solutions--not maintaining existing ones.


As part of a high-performing Engineering team, you'll take ownership of end-to-end solution design, oversee technical delivery, and provide Day 1 support before transitioning the solution to operational teams. You'll collaborate closely with our Solutions team to align customer requirements with the most appropriate mix of technologies and vendors.


The role also has an R&D component--evaluating emerging features, conducting interoperability testing, and contributing to our next-generation network and automation platforms.


We're looking for a hands-on network design expert with a solid foundation in routing, switching, and SD-WAN who thrives in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.


Certifications in networking and SDWAN domains highly valued.

Responsibilities

Act as

Technical Design Authority

for complex customer projects, from pre-sales through to post-deployment support transition. Lead the

design and delivery

of end-to-end solutions incorporating multiple underlay and overlay technologies. Engage in pre-sales activities, supporting solution engineers and sales teams with design guidance and vendor comparisons. Collaborate with the

support

team for high-priority escalations and deep troubleshooting. Produce comprehensive

technical documentation

--including HLDs, LLDs, testing plans, and network diagrams. Conduct

R&D testing

on new SD-WAN and SSE/SASE vendors, technologies, and features. Support the Service and Network Automation team on platform integrations and feature development. Design and deliver customer solutions over Expereo's global IP backbone, using advanced routing skills and deep knowledge of service-provider network. Deliver Day 1 support post-deployment, ensuring smooth handover to the operations team.

Requirements

Must Have

Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols:

BGP, OSPF, IPsec, GRE, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6

Professional-level certification or equivalent expertise (e.g.,

CCNP, CCIE

) Hands-on experience with

SD-WAN technologies

; strong conceptual grasp preferred over vendor-specific depth (e.g.,

VeloCloud

(preferred),

Viptela, Cato, Meraki

) Strong

troubleshooting skills

including packet analysis using tools like Wireshark Experience with

Day 1 support

--validating deployment success before handover Deep understanding of

Layer 2 networking

, including VLANs (dot1q) Familiarity with higher-level protocols such as

DNS, SSL, TCP/UDP

Ability to guide through

SD-WAN orchestrator workflows

and configuration

Should have

Working knowledge of

ZTNA and SSE technologies

(e.g., Zscaler, Netskope, Cato) Experience designing and implementing solutions across

multiple underlay and overlay technologies

Cloud networking or virtualization exposure (e.g.,

AWS, Azure, VMware

) Experience working closely with support teams for

escalation and resolution

Strong

documentation

skills, including: + High-Level Designs (HLD) + Low-Level Designs (LLD)
+ Test plans, network diagrams, and deployment guides

Nice to have

Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, InfluxDB Exposure to REST APIs and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and contribution to automation platforms Awareness of current networking and security market trends
