August 2024 Start - The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat, Oman serving the local Omani community, as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds, on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.

The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS). We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated General Science and Chemistry Teacher to join an esteemed institution in Oman. This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to inspire a passion for science and chemistry, contributing to the academic development of a diverse student body. Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Design and implement comprehensive and engaging curricula for general science and chemistry courses, aligning with international educational standards. Integrate real-world applications and experiments to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of scientific concepts. Interactive Instruction:

Employ innovative teaching methodologies to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences. Foster critical thinking and analytical skills through hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning in both general science and chemistry subjects. Assessment and Feedback:

Develop and administer assessments that effectively evaluate student comprehension and application of scientific principles. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and development in science and chemistry. Laboratory Management:

Oversee and manage science laboratories, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for experiments. Facilitate practical demonstrations and experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts. Extracurricular Involvement:

Organize and participate in science-related clubs, projects, or competitions to further enrich students' scientific experiences. Mentor and guide students interested in pursuing advanced studies or careers in science and chemistry. Parent and Community Communication:

Establish transparent and open channels of communication with parents to keep them informed of their child's progress, achievements, and areas for development in science and chemistry. Engage with the local community to promote awareness and understanding of the importance of science education. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, or a related field. Teaching certification. Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience, with a strong background in general science and chemistry. Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering engaging and challenging science curricula. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
