As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP plays a vital role in delivering the school's vision of "Amazing Learning" across all phases.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Leadership of Learning & Teaching
Drive Diyar School's vision of learning by embedding its 8 Learning Principles throughout the curriculum and teaching practice.
Monitor teaching effectiveness with regular observations (approx. 50 per term), provide coaching, and use data to plan improvements.
Take full accountability for teaching quality, student learning, and classroom behavior.
2. Curriculum Development & Innovation
Support the development and review of a standards-based curriculum (US curriculum with EIYC, IPC, and IMYC) from Pre KG-Grade 12.
Enhance thematic, engaging, and inclusive learning aligned with Diyar School's academic framework.
Partner with the Digital Learning Coordinator to ensure innovation and effective tech integration.
3. School Self-Evaluation & Improvement
Lead self-evaluation and the School Improvement Plan (SIP) aligned with the UAE Inspection Framework and Diyar's internal standards.
Use data to drive decisions and support external accreditation processes, including AIAA.
4. Staff Development & Performance
Line manage Heads of Section and support teacher development to ensure Amazing Learning across all classrooms.
Lead CPD, mentor middle leaders, and support teacher onboarding aligned with Diyar School's expectations.
Conduct performance reviews and ensure accountability at all levels.
5. Student Progress & Achievement
Oversee target setting and academic/behavioral interventions, particularly in middle and senior phases.
Analyze student progress data, benchmark against local and international expectations, and ensure all groups are supported.
Collaborate with HOS and counselors to sustain a high-performing and inclusive school culture.
6. Positive Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain clear and positive communication with Diyar parents, students, and staff in line with the school's protocol.
Act as an ambassador for Diyar School, promoting community engagement and parental involvement.
Foster collective efficacy by ensuring all staff voices are heard and valued.
7. Operations & Daily Management
Assist in the day-to-day operations of Diyar School to ensure a smooth and safe environment.
Work closely with the Principal on matters of school discipline, logistics, and scheduling.
8. Governance & Compliance
Support the formation and communication with the School Governing Body as required by KHDA/MOE.
Uphold Diyar School's HR, safeguarding, and behavior policies to ensure consistency and transparency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status and relevant academic degrees.
Proven leadership experience within a UAE private school (preferably in a VP or senior academic role).
Deep understanding of UAE Inspection Framework, school improvement planning, and curriculum development.
Excellent communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
Track record in raising academic standards and managing school-wide initiatives.
