The School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. The nurse provides first aid, manages health records, ensures compliance with Qatar Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regulations, and supports the school's health education programs.
Key Responsibilities:1. Health Care & First Aid
Provide immediate care and first aid to students and staff for injuries or illnesses occurring during school hours.
Assess students' health conditions and decide when to contact parents or refer to a hospital/clinic.
Administer prescribed medications according to school and MoPH guidelines.
2. Health Records & Documentation
Maintain accurate and confidential health records of all students and staff.
Ensure all medical forms, vaccination records, and emergency contact details are up to date.
Prepare health-related reports and submit them to the school management and authorities when required.
3. Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure the school clinic is equipped with all necessary medical supplies and equipment.
Conduct regular health and hygiene inspections in classrooms, canteens, and school facilities.
Follow MoPH and Ministry of Education (MoEHE) guidelines for school health standards.
4. Communication & Coordination
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health issues and emergencies.
Coordinate with local health authorities and hospitals for emergencies, immunization drives, and health campaigns.
Assist in organizing annual medical check-ups for students and staff.
5. Health Education & Awareness
Conduct health awareness programs on hygiene, nutrition, first aid, and disease prevention.
Provide guidance to teachers on managing students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).
