JOB DESCRIPTION

Aldar Education is currently seeking School Counselor to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE for the commencing AY2023/24.

The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide confidential counselling service to primary age students at an American Curriculum School.
Provide a supportive relationship to primary age children.
To provide a safe environment where children can improve social skills, self - awareness and learning capacity.
To enhance the overall emotional health and mental wellbeing of the child.
To keep students records and ensure these are kept secure.
Be alert to patterns of problems and be willing to identify causes and recommend corrective action.
Keep up to date changes in counselling and developments in the field of counselling and education and the impact on the delivery of counselling.
Must play an active role Safeguarding children.

Behavior management and duties:
Follow the school\xe2\x80\x99s behavior policy.
Manage classes effectively, using approaches that are appropriate to students\xe2\x80\x99 needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary within the school\xe2\x80\x99s behavioral policy.
Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behavior, which are expected of pupils.
Have high expectations of behavior, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
Carry out duties as directed and within the school\xe2\x80\x99s policy.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Psychology / Child Psychology / Counseling or Social Work OR Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with a Post Graduate Certificate/Degree in one of the above specialties
Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar position.
