You are a driven and experienced Sales professional with a number of years of working within the challenging East African market.

Education & Qualifications:
  • Graduate in Marketing or business-related field;
  • Post graduate qualification in Marketing is an added advantage;
  • Mandatory working experience with steel and plastic manufacturing;
  • Mandatory working experience in the region of East- Africa, knowing the market and challenges;
  • More than 5 years experience in a Sales and Marketing managerial role.
Description
In this roll you will be responsible for the general smooth functioning of the sales and marketing department, taking care of distribution and sales of all group products within the domestic market in Kenya.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets;
  • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for all products/services;
  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals;
  • Develops and recommends product positioning, customer support, pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share as well as aligning the market share with the production and trading capacity of the company; thereby recommending new investment proposals/ ideas about product design, quality and output to align with market growth and preferences;
  • Monitors competitor products, pricing, sales and marketing activities;
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share about preset standards and industry and economic trends;
  • Credit control and management, ensuring credit policies are adhered to and recommending new credit terms/credit limit enhancement to the credit committee;
  • Responsible for planning of market staff visits regularly;
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals;
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners;
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion;
  • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports;
  • Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote products;
  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail;
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events;
  • Ensures regular departmental/ segment/sub-segment meetings are held, documented and action plans devised to ensure growth across all lines;
  • Ensures company sales policies are up to date and adhered to, with relevant SOPs available to guide the sales team;
  • Ensuring maximum customer satisfaction by promoting adequate process and product knowledge within the team and suggesting necessary training programs to enhance knowledge and satisfaction.
  • International coordination, budgeting, head office support, and achieving corporate goals.
