Sales Manager - Sports/Delegation
Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing / Director of Sales
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager for Sports & Delegations is responsible for generating and managing group business from sports teams, athletic associations, governing bodies, and official delegations (e.g., for large events, conferences, or government trips). This role focuses on contracting room blocks, managing complex logistical needs, and building long-term partnerships within the sports and official delegation sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to target sports teams (professional, collegiate, amateur), sports event organizers, and official delegations at local, national, and international levels.
• Prospect, negotiate, and secure contracts for room blocks, meeting spaces, and catering requirements for sports teams and delegations.
• Coordinate closely with the Operations, Reservations, and Banquets teams to ensure seamless execution of team stays, including meal schedules, transportation, equipment storage, and special athletic requirements.
• Attend sports trade shows, association meetings, and networking events to build industry presence.
• Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and rooming lists. Manage the group resume process to communicate all critical details to operational departments.
• Maintain a strong pipeline and accurate account records in the Hotel's CRM system.
• Achieve and exceed predetermined revenue goals and sales targets for the segment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of proven sales experience, specifically in sports/team business or group sales within a hotel or related industry.
• Excellent understanding of the unique needs of sports teams and official groups.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, to accommodate team arrivals/departures and events.
