We are excited to find the next Heartist\xc2\xae as Assistant Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Corporate Sales to join the Sofitel Dubai the Obelisk.

Sofitel Dubai the Obelisk opening December 2019 has a striking Obelisk shape and will infuse Sofitel\xe2\x80\x99s French essence with an artistic balance of modernism and ancient Egypt. Featuring 498 rooms and suites starting from 44 sqm and 97 serviced apartments, the property offers five dining concepts, Sofitel Spa, an outdoor pool with private cabanas, 10 meeting venues and one ballroom.

The MICE Sales Manager\xe2\x80\x99s mission is to primarily promote the hotel and where possible, hotels belonging to the chain in his/her area/region. To achieve optimal sales at the best possible conditions for the company.

- To ensure the smooth running operation of the commercial section in consultation with the Director of Sales & Marketing on all matters.

- The performance of the MICE Sales Manager will be determined solely by the productivities of the MICE/EVENTS section as well as the overall results of the hotel.

- The MICE/EVENT Sales manager performs his/her duties within the framework defined by the chain and hotel norms and by internal regulations as specified by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

- Assist in drawing up the marketing plan annually with the Director of Sales and Marketing (including section on MICE/EVENT Accounts).

- The MICE Sales Manager is familiar with the operation and application of the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s computer/data processing system.

Work Experience

Knowledge and Experience

Diploma in Tourism / Hospitality Management

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records

Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language

Proficient in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint

Competencies

Strong leadership, interpersonal and training skills

Good communication and customer contact skills

Service oriented with an eye for details

Ability to work well in stressful & high-pressure situations

A team player & builder

A motivator & self-starter

Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a sales position
  • Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management / Business Administration
  • Strong knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering & Microsoft Office
  • Understands the local culture and have worked in the region
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Fluency in Arabic, written & spoken is an advantage
