Job Description

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the hotel's sales efforts, implementing strategies to drive revenue growth, and managing the sales team. This role involves working closely with marketing, operations, and management to develop effective sales programs and ensure the hotel achieves its occupancy and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

:

Sales Strategy & Planning

: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve hotel revenue and occupancy goals. Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through various channels (corporate, leisure, group, and transient sales). Monitor market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly. Create and maintain sales forecasts and budget plans to ensure targets are met.

Team Management

: Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team, ensuring that sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Provide training, support, and ongoing performance evaluations for the sales staff. Foster a team-oriented and high-performance work culture.

Client Relationship Management

: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including corporate clients, event planners, travel agencies, and tour operators. Address client concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Negotiate contracts, rates, and special arrangements for corporate and group bookings.

Revenue Management

: Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize pricing strategies and maximize revenue. Implement pricing strategies for rooms, events, and other hotel services. Analyze sales data and report on performance trends.

Marketing & Promotion

: Work closely with the marketing department to create promotional campaigns and initiatives that support sales goals. Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to increase the hotel's visibility and attract new business. Utilize digital and social media platforms to promote the hotel and attract potential customers.

Reporting & Analysis

: Provide regular reports on sales performance, competitor analysis, and market conditions to senior management. Track and analyze sales data, conversion rates, and revenue performance to identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration

: Collaborate with other departments, including operations, catering, and front desk, to ensure a seamless guest experience. Coordinate with the general manager and senior leadership to align on strategic goals and initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

:

Experience

: Minimum of 15 years of sales experience in the hotel or hospitality industry, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.

Education

: A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

Strong Communication Skills

: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Leadership

: Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team.

Sales Expertise

: Strong knowledge of sales strategies, revenue management, and business development.

Relationship Building

: Skilled in building and maintaining client relationships.

Tech-Savvy

: Proficient in sales management software (e.g., Salesforce, Opera, Delphi) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Negotiation Skills

: Ability to negotiate contracts and deals effectively.

Working Conditions

:

Full-time position with occasional evenings, weekends, and travel required for client meetings and events. Work is typically conducted in an office setting with occasional visits to client sites and trade shows.
