The Account Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance department by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks. The role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Financial Support
Assist in maintaining financial records, ledgers, and journals.
Prepare invoices, bills, payment vouchers, and receipts.
Record and reconcile daily transactions accurately.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Banking & Payments
Assist with bank transactions, deposits, and reconciliations.
Prepare and process payments, including supplier invoices and employee reimbursements.
Track outstanding payments and follow up with vendors or clients.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate and organized accounting files and records.
Prepare financial reports, summaries, and statements as required.
Assist in audit preparation and provide necessary documentation.
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with other departments regarding financial matters.
Support the Accounts Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Handle queries from vendors, clients, or internal teams related to accounting.
Skills & Requirements:
Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, Junior Accountant, or similar role.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software (Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance support.
Knowledge of local financial regulations and VAT/GST compliance is a plus.
