The Sales Manager - Hardwood (Local Market) is responsible for managing and expanding the company's hardwood sales within the domestic market. The role involves developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, leading a sales team, and ensuring consistent revenue growth in line with company objectives. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of the local hardwood industry, market trends, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share and achieve sales targets in the local market.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with local distributors, furniture manufacturers, flooring companies, joineries, and other key customers.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region.
Lead, coach, and motivate the local sales team to achieve individual and collective goals.
Monitor competitor activities, market pricing, and customer preferences to provide strategic recommendations.
Coordinate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure timely order delivery and high customer satisfaction.
Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses for management.
Participate in local trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to promote the company's products.
Maintain a strong understanding of hardwood species, grades, and applications relevant to the local market.
Qualifications:
Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Solid understanding of local customer needs, market dynamics, and distribution channels.
Preferred Skills:
Existing network of local clients in the wood or construction materials industry.
Experience with hardwood grading, pricing, and sourcing.
Knowledge of sustainable forestry standards (FSC, PEFC, etc.) is an advantage.
