Job Description

As a

Sales Manager

, you will be responsible for driving the sales and market presence of our products by achieving strong listings, high levels of distribution and availability, and effective on-brand merchandising within our retailer customer base.

You will lead and develop a high-performing sales team, build strong relationships across retail channels, and drive customer advocacy for our products through education and engagement.

This role plays a key part in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth targets. If you are a driven, results-oriented leader with a talent for strategic planning and relationship-building, we'd love to hear from you!

1. Roles and Responsibilities



1.1 Market Analysis and Information Gathering



Ensure that the necessary information about the local market is available. Gain knowledge about business practices and the purchasing behavior of the markets. Conduct and analyze competitive observations.

1.2 Implementation of Global Goals



Adapt and implement the global goals of the Happy Pet Group to local conditions. Establish the Happy Dog and Happy Cat brands in every specialty store, not just selected stores.

1.3 Distribution Strategy



Build the brand through a variety of distribution channels and the widest possible reach. Develop strategies to ensure broad availability of our products.

1.4 B2C Business



Build and promote the B2C (Business-to-Consumer) business to reach customers who cannot find our products in local stores. Direct sales to end customers to increase market coverage and strengthen customer loyalty.

1.5 Leading and Motivating the Field Service Team



Lead and motivate the field service team to achieve the set goals. Promote a culture of collaboration and commitment. Conduct regular team meetings and feedback discussions.

2. Fundamentals of Field Service Management at the Happy Pet Group



Number of Visits per Month

: Setting the minimum number of customer visits each sales representative must make.

Number of Active Customers

: Ensuring constant care and activation of existing customers.

Number of New Customers

: Setting goals for acquiring new customers to promote growth.

Product Range Expansion

: Promoting the placement of new products with existing customers.

Cash Collection

: Ensuring timely receipt of payments from customers.

Sales Promotions

: Conducting and succeeding in special sales promotions.

3. Sales Strategy



Our sales strategy aims to sell our products in all markets where we regularly find our target group and where the customer can be targeted with the products. These markets include:

Specialty pet stores Dog groomers Breeders Online retailers Delivery services Grocery stores All other similar distribution channels

3.1 Adapting the Product Range to the Distribution Channel



Specialty Pet Stores and Specialized Retailers

: Broad range, including premium and specialty products. Special consideration of products that require targeted advice, such as veterinary products.

Dog Groomers and Breeders

: Products specifically tailored to the needs of dogs and cats. Offering grooming products and specialty food.

Online Retailers and Delivery Services

: Full range to reach a wide customer base. Convenient and fast delivery for the end customer.

Grocery Stores

: Placement of standard and basic assortments like NaturCroq in the dog segment and Minkas in the cat segment. Focus on products that are easy to understand and market even without special advice.

3.2 Special Products and Advice



Veterinary Products

: These products are preferably placed in stores where veterinarians are available on-site to provide expert advice.

Range without Special Advice

: In distribution channels without special advice, we rely on easily understandable and well-known products like NaturCroq and Minkas.

3.3 Consultation and Coordination



In case of uncertainties regarding placement or product range selection, always consult with the General Manager or the International Marketing Manager from the head office. This ensures that the sales strategy is consistently and market-oriented implemented.

4. CRM Use



Mandatory use of Zoho CRM and Zoho Expense for all sales staff to ensure consistent, efficient data management globally. CRM programming and support managed by head office with a dedicated project lead. Accurate maintenance of visit reports, logbooks, and expense reports exclusively within the CRM system is required. Sales staff who refuse to use the system are not acceptable and will be sanctioned accordingly. Reporting follows uniform global standards; deviations require head office approval. Effective CRM use enhances communication, transparency, and sales performance across teams.

5. Requirements



Proven experience in sales, market development, or business strategy. Strong leadership and communication skills. Familiarity with CRM systems (preferably Zoho). High accuracy and attention to detail.
