Position Overview:
The Sales Business Development Representative for IT Software Services is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with potential clients, and promoting the company's software services. This role involves working with various industry sectors, understanding customer needs, and developing solutions that meet their software development and IT service requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Identify and target potential clients in industries requiring custom software solutions (e.g., healthcare, finance, e-commerce, etc.) through research, networking, and events.
Client Engagement & Relationship Building:
Engage with prospects to understand their business challenges, and present tailored software service offerings (e.g., software development, cloud services, IT consulting).
Market Research:
Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitive landscape, and technology advancements to identify key opportunities for the company's software services.
Sales Strategy Development:
Work closely with the marketing and product teams to design and execute sales strategies focused on key accounts, verticals, or regions.
Solution Selling:
Collaborate with internal technical teams to create and deliver custom solutions aligned with the client's technical and business requirements.
Proposal and Contract Preparation:
Develop detailed proposals, RFP responses, and presentations tailored to client needs, highlighting technical expertise and service value.
Sales Pipeline Management:
Manage the end-to-end sales process using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), tracking leads, opportunities, and closing deals.
Client Retention & Upselling:
Build long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and explore opportunities for upselling additional services (e.g., support, updates, new developments).
Collaboration:
Work with technical and project management teams to ensure seamless onboarding, project execution, and client satisfaction.
Negotiation & Deal Closing:
Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring both the client's and the company's interests are well-represented.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role in IT/software services.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, preferably in the technology or software services sector.
Familiarity with software development methodologies, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
Strong understanding of software services such as custom software development, SaaS, cloud solutions, and IT consulting.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales tracking tools.
Strong presentation skills and ability to explain complex technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Skills:
Experience selling B2B software services or working with clients in industries like finance, healthcare, logistics, or technology.
Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong network within the IT sector, with proven ability to identify and close new opportunities.
