The Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all
occupational health & safety requirements
are implemented at the OHPL project site in accordance with
Saudi Aramco standards
, project-specific safety plans, and regulatory guidelines. The role ensures safe execution of tower erection, stringing, excavation, heavy equipment operations, and work at height.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Standards
Enforce compliance with
Saudi Aramco Safety Standards
, including SAEPs, SAES, GIs (General Instructions), and project safety plans.
Ensure all OHPL activities follow Aramco
High-Risk Work Permits
(HRWP) requirements (Work at Height, Confined Space, Excavation, Lifting, Hot Work, etc.).
Regularly review and implement
Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
,
Hazard Identification (HAZID)
, and
Risk Assessments
for all OHPL tasks.
2. Site Safety Monitoring
Supervise safety compliance during:
Tower foundation work
Tower erection and climbing
Conductor stringing operations
Excavation and backfilling
Heavy equipment & crane operations
Live-line or proximity-to-energized-line work
Conduct daily site safety inspections and record observations in line with Aramco KPIs.
Verify proper use of PPE and ensure workers are fit for climbing or work at height.
3. Lifting & Rigging Safety
Review and approve
lifting plans
in coordination with the Lifting Engineer.
Ensure all lifting equipment is certified and inspected.
Monitor crane operations during tower erection and ensure riggers are certified by Aramco.
4. Work at Height Safety
Ensure 100% fall protection when climbing towers.
Verify proper installation of lifelines, harnesses, and fall arrest systems.
Conduct inspections of all height-related equipment.

Ensure all workers have Aramco-approved safety training such as:
Work at Height
Lifting and Rigging
Heavy Equipment Spotting
Electrical Safety Awareness
Train new employees during site induction.
7. Incident Management
Lead incident investigations using Aramco RCA methods.
Submit reports (5-Why, Fishbone, Tripod) in line with Aramco requirements.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
8. Emergency Preparedness
Ensure all emergency procedures for OHPL works are communicated and practiced.
Conduct emergency drills (fall rescue, electrical hazard response, lifting failure).
Verify availability of first aid, rescue kits, and emergency equipment.
9. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with Aramco Safety Inspectors/Saudi Aramco Loss Prevention Department (LPD).
Participate in weekly progress and safety meetings.
Provide daily and weekly safety performance reports to HSE Manager and Aramco counterparts.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Occupational Safety.
NEBOSH IGC
or equivalent (mandatory for Aramco).
Aramco-approved Safety Supervisor certificate (TUV/Aramco ATP).
Minimum
5-7 years of experience
in power transmission/OHPL construction safety.
Strong knowledge of Aramco
