Ensure all HVAC works are executed in accordance with company safety policies, local regulations, and project-specific HSE plans.
Conduct regular inspections of work areas, tools, equipment, scaffolds, and lifting devices used in HVAC installations.
Verify that all technicians and subcontractors comply with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
Stop any unsafe act or condition immediately and report to the Project / Site Manager.
2. Risk Assessment & Safety Planning
Assist in preparing
Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
and
Risk Assessments
for HVAC tasks such as duct installation, lifting units, refrigerant handling, and electrical connections.
Identify potential hazards (mechanical, electrical, confined space, hot work, etc.) and recommend appropriate control measures.
Participate in the development and implementation of project-specific
HSE plans
.
3. Training & Awareness
Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety awareness sessions for HVAC teams and subcontractors.
Educate workers on safe work practices related to refrigerant gases, insulation materials, and HVAC tools.
4. Incident Reporting & Investigation
Record and report all near misses, unsafe acts, and incidents.
Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Maintain proper documentation of safety reports, audits, and inspection checklists.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain updated records of safety permits (Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Working at Height, etc.).
Coordinate with main contractor/client HSE departments for approvals and audits.
Ensure proper display of safety signboards, evacuation plans, and emergency contact information at the site.
6. Emergency Preparedness
Support emergency drills and ensure HVAC teams are familiar with site emergency procedures.
Check that firefighting equipment and first aid kits are available and accessible near HVAC work zones.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification
preferred.
Minimum
3-5 years of HSE experience
, preferably in HVAC, MEP, or construction environments.
Good knowledge of UAE labor laws and HSE regulations.
Strong communication and leadership skills to guide multi-national workforces.
