Job Purpose:

To ensure the implementation and compliance of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards on construction sites, in accordance with UAE regulations, company policies, and international best practices. The Safety Officer will be responsible for identifying risks, implementing control measures, and promoting a culture of safety across the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain site-specific HSE plans and procedures in compliance with

UAE regulations

Conduct daily site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and proactively identify unsafe practices or conditions. Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for site staff, subcontractors, and visitors. Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports with corrective/preventive actions Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure documentation is prepared and submitted as per local authority requirements. Maintain and update all HSE records, registers, reports, Promote continuous safety improvement and lead safety awareness campaigns. Supervise the implementation of emergency response plans and conduct regular drills. Ensure proper use and availability of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety gear. Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safe working practices are integrated into daily site operations. Provide weekly and monthly safety performance reports to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Diploma or Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline (preferably Civil or Safety Engineering).

Certifications:

NEBOSH (Mandatory) Level Seven or above First Aid, Fire Fighting, and Working at Heights certifications

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the UAE construction industry.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of local safety regulations

Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong leadership and supervision abilities Proficiency in report writing and incident investigation Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments Computer literacy UAE driving license is mandatory
