Ensure compliance with
local safety regulations
, labor laws, and industry standards.
Monitor and enforce proper use of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
.
Conduct
safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training programs
for workers and supervisors.
Identify unsafe acts/conditions and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed safety reports.
Implement
permit-to-work systems
for high-risk activities (hot work, lifting, confined spaces).
Ensure emergency preparedness, including fire safety measures and drills.
Maintain safety documentation and submit regular reports to management.
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and supervisors to promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications & Experience (optional to include):
Degree/Diploma in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Safety certification (e.g., SARS, OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
Experience in building or construction projects.
Strong communication and site supervision skills.
