Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Road Safety Officer

to manage and oversee all safety aspects related to

road works, traffic management, and road closures

. The successful candidate will ensure that all operations comply with

UAE traffic safety regulations

,

RTA/ADM requirements

, and

Civil Defense standards

, while maintaining a safe environment for workers, motorists, and pedestrians.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor

Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)

and

Road Closure Plans

in compliance with RTA/ADM guidelines. Coordinate with

Roads & Transport Authority (RTA)

,

Municipality

,

Police

, and other authorities to obtain necessary permits for road closures and diversions. Conduct

risk assessments

for road works, lane closures, diversions, and temporary traffic management setups. Supervise the

placement and maintenance of traffic control devices

(signs, cones, barriers, lights, etc.) to ensure compliance with approved layouts. Monitor road work zones daily to ensure safe conditions for workers and road users. Conduct

toolbox talks

and safety briefings focusing on road safety, vehicle movement, and pedestrian protection. Investigate and document all road-related incidents, near misses, and property damage, and recommend corrective actions. Ensure all safety signage, lighting, and barricading are properly installed and maintained. Liaise with HSE Manager and Project Management to align with

project safety plans

and

ISO 45001

standards. Maintain accurate records of permits, inspections, and safety documentation for audits and authority reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.

NEBOSH IGC

,

IOSH Managing Safely

, or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory). Minimum

3-5 years' experience

as a Safety Officer in

road construction, traffic management, or infrastructure projects

within the UAE or GCC. Strong knowledge of

RTA/ADM traffic management procedures

,

UAE Civil Defense

, and

Federal Traffic Law

. Experience with

Temporary Traffic Management (TTM)

or

Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM)

standards. Excellent communication and coordination skills with contractors and local authorities.

Valid UAE Driving License - Mandatory.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
