Job Description

We are looking for a safety officer to ensures a safe workplace by enforcing health and safety guidelines, conducting risk assessments, developing safety policies, and investigating incidents to improve overall safety. Key duties include identifying and controlling hazards, providing safety training, and promoting a culture of health and safety to prevent accidents and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

Policy & Program Development

:
Create and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and programs to meet regulatory standards.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

:
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify hazards and develop strategies to control or eliminate them.

Workplace Monitoring

:
Regularly inspect the workplace and monitor activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and the proper use of equipment.

Training & Education

:
Organize and deliver training to employees on various safety topics, such as proper equipment use, emergency procedures, and hazard awareness.

Incident Investigation

:
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root causes, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Compliance & Reporting

:
Ensure adherence to all relevant safety laws and regulations, maintain records, and prepare reports for management on safety performance and occurrences.

Emergency Response

:
Participate in emergency drills and be prepared to respond to hazardous situations and accidents.

Safety Promotion

:
Foster a positive safety culture within the organization by actively involving employees in safety initiatives and communicating best practices.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of OHS Standards

:
A solid understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices is essential.

Communication Skills

:
Ability to effectively communicate safety information, provide training, and interact professionally with employees and management.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

:
Strong abilities in risk assessment, identifying hazards, and developing practical solutions to safety issues.

Meticulous in inspections, record-keeping, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
