Job Description

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with local and international safety standards (e.g., DM, Trakhees, DCD), and promoting a culture of health and safety at construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at project sites. Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including risk assessments, incident reports, tool-box talks, and safety inductions. Coordinate and conduct HSE training programs for employees and subcontractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and preventive measures. Ensure all workers are using proper PPE and safety equipment. Liaise with authorities such as Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, and Dubai Civil Defence regarding safety compliance. Monitor site activities to ensure that all operations are carried out safely and according to safety plans. Develop and update Emergency Response Plans. Maintain and display safety signage and evacuation procedures at sites. Support the project team with safety input during planning and execution stages. Prepare monthly safety reports and dashboards for management review.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent is

mandatory

. Minimum

3-5 years

of experience in construction safety in the UAE, preferably with high-rise or infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and regulatory requirements (DM, Trakhees, EHSMS, DCD, etc.). Proficient in safety documentation, reporting, and MS Office tools. Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus). Ability to work independently and enforce safety practices in challenging site environments.
