The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies across all project sites. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, local HSE regulations, and international safety standards relevant to the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with UAE regulations and company standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure that all workers receive proper safety training and are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Monitor and enforce the use of safe work practices and ensure that all safety violations are addressed and reported promptly.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend preventative measures.
Liaise with government authorities (e.g., DM, Trakhees, OSHAD, and Civil Defence) for inspections, permits, and audits.
Maintain all required safety documentation, including incident reports, safety meeting minutes, and risk assessments.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and emergency response simulations.
Stay updated on new safety regulations and industry best practices.
Support the project and site teams to foster a safety-first culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
NEBOSH IGC certification.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the UAE construction industry.
Sound knowledge of UAE HSE legislation and international safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, etc.).
Familiar with safety documentation required by UAE authorities (e.g., method statements, risk assessments, safety plans).
Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.

Excellent observation and problem-solving abilities.
Leadership in promoting safety awareness among diverse teams.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Multilingual (Arabic, English, Mandarin, Hindi/Urdu) is a plus.
