. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and enforce
HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans
Conduct
daily site safety inspections
and risk assessments
Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Ensure compliance with
local and international safety standards
Conduct
toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare reports
Monitor use of
PPE
and safe work practices
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters
Maintain
safety documentation, permits, and records
Ensure compliance with
permit-to-work systems
and method statements
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum 5 years of proven experience
as a Safety Officer (Oil & Gas or Civil Construction)
Valid experience certificates
(mandatory)
Recognized HSE certifications
, such as:
NEBOSH (IGC or equivalent)
IOSH Managing Safely
Strong knowledge of
HSE laws, regulations, and standards
Experience working on
project-based construction or oil & gas sites
Ability to work independently and under site pressure
Preferred Skills
Strong communication and reporting skills
Leadership and safety awareness training capability
Familiarity with emergency response procedures
Computer skills for reporting and documentation
