Job Description

We are looking for a Safety Officer who is responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards. This role plays a key part in preventing accidents, responding to incidents, and supporting continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits. Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, legal requirements, and company policies. Conduct toolbox talks, safety training sessions, and awareness programs for staff. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports. Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and records. Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper availability. Coordinate emergency drills, evacuation procedures, and first aid response. Assist in developing safe work method statements (SWMS) and job safety analyses (JSA). Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and management to improve site safety. Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field. NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification (preferred or required depending on industry). Proven experience as a Safety Officer in construction, industrial, or commercial environments. Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard control, and incident investigation. Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills. Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Ability to work in high-risk environments and respond quickly to emergencies.
