Position Overview
We are looking for a
qualified and experienced Safety Officer
to ensure that all project activities are carried out in compliance with company, client, and legal safety standards.
The successful candidate will
advise, guide, and support project management and site teams
to create and maintain a safe working environment, promote safety culture, and ensure full implementation of the HSE management system.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment Management
Advise, guide, and facilitate the
Project/Line Management, Supervisors, and Workforce
on all matters pertaining to
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
.
Monitor HSE standards at all work sites and provide proactive advice for continuous improvement.
Ensure all site activities comply with the
Project HSE Plan
, relevant company policies, and legal requirements.
Participate in
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)
and
Hazard Effect Management Process (HEMP)
for all activities.
Training & Awareness
Organize and conduct
in-house and mandatory HSE training programs
for employees and maintain accurate training records.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and refresher training sessions to reinforce safety awareness.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
Support line management in
investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions
.
Prepare investigation reports and ensure that
learning points and corrective actions
are communicated and implemented.
Maintain up-to-date records and compile HSE statistics and reports for submission to the HSE Systems Manager.
Inspection & Audit
Plan and conduct
regular site inspections and internal audits
to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
Carry out
periodic inspections of vehicles, plants, tools, PPE, and equipment
to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Conduct
camp inspections
to ensure health, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained.
Recommend corrective actions for non-conformities and follow up on their timely closure.
Participate in
HSE meetings, drills, and emergency response exercises
.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain all HSE records including inspection reports, audit findings, training logs, and incident reports.
Ensure compliance with
company and client HSE policies, local legislation, and international standards
.
Prepare HSE reports and performance data for submission to management and clients.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's Degree
in any relevant discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent).
Minimum 7 years
of relevant HSE experience in
construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects
.
Must hold
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC 1, 2 & 3)
.
Strong knowledge of
international safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
and HSE management systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
Strong report-writing and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office and HSE management documentation.
Proactive, disciplined, and committed to fostering a strong safety culture.
Locally available in Saudi Arabia or who willing to relocation KSA
Certifications:
NEBOSH International General Certificate (Parts 1, 2 & 3) - Mandatory
Additional qualifications (advantageous):
IDIP OTHM Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety
IOSH Managing Safely Certificate
Fire and Safety Diploma (NIFE, India)
Fire Marshal Certificate
Medical First Aid Certificate
Confined Space Awareness
Work at Height, Lifting & Rigging, Manual Handling, Scaffolding Inspection
Environmental Management and COSHH Awareness
Permit to Work, Heat Stress, and Accident Prevention Training
