Job Purpose:

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel by implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols across the project or site. The Safety Officer will identify risks, conduct inspections, provide training, and enforce compliance with UAE labor laws and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations. Develop and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training for workers and staff. Maintain safety records, including incident logs, inspection reports, and training registers. Coordinate with site supervisors and project teams to implement safety procedures and preventive measures. Ensure availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on site. Liaise with regulatory bodies and participate in external audits or inspections as required. Promote a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field. Certified Safety Professional (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations and standards. Excellent observation, reporting, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

Experience in civil, MEP, or fit-out projects. Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards.
