JOB Summary:

The

Safety Officer

is responsible for enforcing safety policies, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi's health and safety regulations, as well as adherence to company procedures. This role is essential in promoting a safe site environment, preventing accidents, and educating employees on safety procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

:

Ensure all construction activities adhere to Abu Dhabi's safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure proper permits and approvals are in place for hazardous work. Perform routine site inspections and safety audits to identify and correct unsafe conditions. Report on unsafe conditions, unsafe work practices, and violations to the HSE Engineer. Ensure that scaffolding, lifting equipment, and machinery are used safely and inspected regularly. Identify potential hazards related to construction work, machinery, and materials. Investigate accidents and safety violations, document findings and implement preventive measures. Maintain safety logs, inspection reports, and incident records for compliance and internal reporting. Ensure subcontractors comply with the company's safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Diploma in safety. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in the UAE. In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi's safety regulations (OSHAD, AD EHSMS, and UAE labor laws). Ability to enforce safety regulations and conduct thorough site inspections. Valid UAE driving license preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong observational and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate safety risks. Effective communication and coordination skills Proficiency in safety documentation and incident reporting. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
