Safety Investigator Airworthiness

Job Description
Purpose:
The Safety Investigator-Airworthiness reports directly to the Manager Quality Safety Investigation and is responsible for leading the investigation and representing the company in compliance with the GCAA & EASA Continued Airworthiness Regulations.
Accountabilities:
\xc2\xb7 Perform internal safety investigations of occurrences and incidents related to the airworthiness of the aircraft to identify causal and contributory factors.
\xc2\xb7 Identify safety recommendations to the organization to avoid repeated safety incidents.
\xc2\xb7 Assessing the severity of safety incidents to determine the extent of the company\xe2\x80\x99s response to an incident.
\xc2\xb7 Compose and review safety investigation reports.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain the safety management system database to ensure integrity and accuracy for statistical use.
\xc2\xb7 Research the latest techniques/technologies in investigation and human factors to ensure best industry practices.
\xc2\xb7 Additional duties and responsibilities, as reasonably expected, may be assigned as required.
Education & Experience
\xc2\xb7 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance/technical operations of which 2-5 years should be in an SMS/Safety Investigations role.
\xc2\xb7 Minimum Aircraft Maintenance Engineer\xe2\x80\x99s License (Recommended) or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a field related to engineering, safety, or aviation.
\xc2\xb7 Familiar with and demonstrates sound knowledge of the GCAA/EASA CAR-145, CAR-SMS and CAR-M regulations.
\xc2\xb7 Completed Level 1 or higher training on at least of one aircraft type from the Etihad Airways Fleet.
\xc2\xb7 Trained in Root Cause Analysis Techniques.
\xc2\xb7 Completed an aircraft accident/incident investigation course.
