Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Implement corporate HSE policy, approved HSE plans, and applicable HSE legislation across project sites
• Monitor HSE performance and safety targets and recommend continuous improvement measures
• Ensure all client safety requirements are fully implemented and maintained
• Liaise with safety managers and contractors to strengthen corporate HSE management practices
• Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with legal, client, and corporate safety requirements
• Review site safety plans, emergency response plans, method statements, and risk assessments for all activities
• Conduct regular HSE inspections and report findings to the Resident Engineer for immediate corrective action
• Review and monitor contractors' monthly HSE inspection reports and safety performance records
• Conduct monthly safety meetings, set corrective action targets, and prepare and circulate meeting minutes
• Review emergency preparedness procedures, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and contractor HSE statistics
• Review incident and accident investigation reports, communicate lessons learned, and monitor corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a construction-related engineering discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Safety Engineer on highway, bridge, or underpass projects in the UAE
• Recognized safety certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, Safety Diploma, First Aid, and Fire Safety
• Strong working knowledge of UAE Federal Laws, Dubai Municipality Code of Construction Safety Practice, RTA Circulars, and Work Zone Traffic Management Manual
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• ISO audit qualifications or training such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 are an advantage
• Ability to attend in-person interviews in the UAE
