Key Responsibilities
Implement corporate HSE policy, HSE plans, and applicable HSE legislation across project sites
Monitor HSE performance and safety targets, recommending improvements where required
Ensure full compliance with client safety requirements and contractual obligations
Coordinate with safety managers and contractors to improve and enforce HSE practices
Monitor contractors to ensure implementation of all legal and client-mandated safety measures
Review site safety plans, emergency response plans, method statements, and risk assessments
Carry out regular HSE inspections and report non-compliances for immediate corrective action
Review and monitor monthly contractor HSE inspection reports and statistics
Conduct monthly safety meetings, track outstanding issues, and circulate meeting minutes
Review permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, emergency preparedness, and safety records
Investigate incidents and accidents, communicate lessons learned, and follow up on corrective actions
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a construction-related engineering discipline
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Safety Engineer on highway, bridge, or underpass projects in the UAE
Strong knowledge of UAE construction safety regulations and authority requirements
Skills Set
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent recognized safety certification
Safety Diploma, First Aid, Fire Safety certifications are required
Working knowledge of Federal Laws, Dubai Municipality Code of Construction Safety Practice, RTA Circulars, and Work Zone Traffic Management Manual
Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 audit qualifications or training are an advantage
Ability to attend in-person interviews in the UAE
