Runners / Food Runners
Reports To: Head Waiter, Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Overview: Runners are the critical link between the kitchen pass and the guest table. Their primary role is to deliver food quickly, accurately, and with care, supporting the wait staff to ensure hot food arrives hot and presentation is intact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect prepared dishes from the kitchen expeditor, verifying accuracy against tickets.
- Deliver food to the correct table and seat number, announcing dishes as per house style.
- Assist Commi Waiters with clearing tables between courses.
- Ensure plates are clean and properly garnished before leaving the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness of service aisles and runner stations.
- Relay special requests or kitchen messages to the appropriate waiter.
- Assist with polishing glassware, silverware, and stocking side stations.
- No prior experience required, but a strong desire to learn is essential.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Physical ability to carry heavy trays.
- Attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
