Key Responsibilities of a Rope Access Technician Level 1:
Performing Rope Access Work
Execute tasks at height using rope access methods under supervision.
Follow instructions from Level 2 or 3 technicians.
Carry out duties like cleaning, painting, inspections, or maintenance.
Safety Compliance
Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and protocols.
Wear and use PPE (personal protective equipment) correctly.
Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe practices to supervisors.
Rope Management
Assist with setting up and dismantling rope systems (under guidance).
Manage rope rigging on site -- keeping it tidy and free of entanglement.
Perform basic equipment checks and report faults or damage.
Tool Handling and Support
Safely handle tools and equipment while suspended.
Pass tools to technicians in position and support operations from anchor points or the ground.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with Level 2 and Level 3 technicians.
Support team communication and logistics, especially in remote or confined locations.
Training and Development
Maintain IRATA or SPRAT certification.
Participate in ongoing training and drills to improve skills.
Build experience to qualify for higher levels of rope access.
