Room Service Ordertaker
Job Summary:
The Room Service Ordertaker is the voice of the in-room dining experience. This role is responsible for answering calls, taking food and beverage orders accurately, upselling items, and coordinating with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely delivery to guest rooms.
Key Responsibilities:

• Answer room service phones promptly and professionally using the hotel's standard greeting.
• Take guest orders accurately, entering them directly into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Describe menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests.
• Suggest additional items (upsell) to enhance the guest's order, such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty drinks.
• Relay special dietary requests or allergies clearly to the kitchen.
• Coordinate order timing with the kitchen and the room service wait staff to ensure prompt delivery.
• Process payment for orders, applying charges to the guest's room account or taking credit card information.
• Follow up with guests or service staff to resolve any issues with an order.
• Maintain a clean and organized order-taking station.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a call center, reservation desk, or food service role is beneficial.
• Exceptional telephone etiquette and clear, articulate speaking voice.
• Strong active listening and data entry skills.
• Excellent knowledge of the room service menu and POS systems.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure during peak hours.
