Job Description

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guestrooms while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests. He/She will ensure that all rooms are stocked with necessary amenities and supplies. He/She must be detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills to ensure that all assigned rooms are cleaned and prepared within the required timeframe. Education & Experience High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. Prior experience in housekeeping Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects Attention to detail Fundamental Requirements Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision Positive thinker, good eye for details, and self-motivated person Report to work within the requested time, prior to the commencement of duty, well-groomed and dressed to the uniform standards. Demonstrate pride in the work place with a high level of commitment. Treat all guests, members & colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all times. Anticipate guest's needs wherever possible and react to these to enhance guest satisfaction. Promote a helpful and professional image to the internal and external customers. Ascertain a high degree of guest satisfaction (to receive zero complaints about your department) Use guest names wherever appropriate. Have good knowledge of all the different types of rooms, hotel facilities, and hours of operation, restaurants and functions rooms. To be well informed about the special functions and events held in the hotel on daily basis. Be aware of hotel management, their office location, role and availability. Comply with the hotel legal requirements for fire, bomb threats and Health and Safety standards. Report for any maintenance complains to the supervisor/ Executive Housekeeper General Requirements Maintain the department standard productivity requirement of daily minimum number of room credit count cleaning between 12 to 13 credits per day. Must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow team members. Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up. Report all missing items from room (i.e., linen, irons/boards, hair dryers, etc.) to Housekeeping Supervisor/ Executive Housekeeper. Carry out the complete inspection of the rooms or public areas and inform the supervisor about any unusual thing found in the room. Arrange the housekeeping trolley as per the required standard. Handle the clean and soiled linen as per the department standard. Vacuum and mop all the rooms after the service. Inform the supervisor/ executive housekeeper about the room status and discrepancy. Collect the guest laundry and hand it over to the supervisor or linen room. Strictly follow the department health and safety standard. Handle the "Lost and Found" according to the standards.
