Job Summary

:

The Roller Operator is responsible for operating a road roller or compactor to compress soil, gravel, asphalt, or other materials during road construction and groundwork activities. The role requires attention to safety, site coordination, and proper equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities

:

Operate roller/compactor machines (single drum, double drum, or pneumatic tire) for compaction tasks. Compact earth, road base, and asphalt materials to required density and smoothness. Perform pre-operational checks (oil, fuel, brakes, lights, tires, etc.). Follow compaction patterns and site instructions provided by the supervisor. Coordinate with ground staff and site engineers to ensure proper compaction levels. Maintain logs of machine usage and operating hours. Report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately. Ensure safe parking and securing of machinery at end of shift. Adhere to all HSE guidelines and use PPE at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

Valid

UAE Heavy Equipment Operator License (specific to roller/compactor)

Minimum

2-4 years of experience

as a roller operator in road or infrastructure projects Familiarity with different types of rollers (vibratory, tandem, pneumatic, etc.) Experience on

civil, roadwork, or asphalt projects

in UAE/GCC preferred Ability to communicate in

basic English or Hindi/Urdu

Skills Required

:

Machine operation and control Understanding of soil types and compaction requirements Site awareness and coordination with other equipment Preventive maintenance and safety procedures Ability to follow compaction plans or supervisor's instructions
