Responsible for the design, operation, supervision, and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis (
RO
)
water treatment
plants, including
seawater
and brackish water systems. The role involves process design, plant operation, troubleshooting, optimization, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Design & Engineering
Design and review RO systems for seawater and brackish water applications.
Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and layout drawings.
Perform RO system calculations including recovery rates, salt rejection, flux, and energy consumption.
Select membranes, high-pressure pumps, pressure vessels, filters, and dosing systems.
Design pre-treatment systems (UF, MMF, ACF, DAF, cartridge filters).
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
Plant Operation & Supervision
Supervise daily operation of RO plants ensuring stable water production and quality.
Monitor system parameters such as pressure, flow, TDS, SDI, pH, and turbidity.
Optimize plant performance to improve recovery and reduce chemical and energy consumption.
Troubleshoot operational issues including membrane fouling, scaling, biofouling, and pressure drops.
Supervise CIP (Clean-in-Place) activities and membrane replacement.
Installation & Commissioning
Supervise installation of RO skids, high-pressure piping, and instrumentation.
Lead plant commissioning, performance testing, and acceptance testing.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors during installation and commissioning.
Maintenance & Reliability
Prepare and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
Analyze plant performance trends and recommend improvements.
Ensure proper chemical handling and storage procedures.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with water quality standards and client requirements.
Follow HSE policies, especially for chemical handling and high-pressure systems.
Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and operation manuals.
Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Project & Client Coordination
Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities on technical matters.
Support proposal preparation, BOQs, and technical submissions.
Assist in cost estimation and value engineering.
Train operators and junior engineers.
