Job Purpose

This position is required to understand the overall risks of the trade finance industry and to support the DP World Trade Finance business with global responsibility in relation to ensuring that all aspects of the business risks are properly identified, formulate appropriate controls, conduct periodic tests and report to the Board on periodic basis.

Key Accountabilities

• Have an overall understanding on the business, operations and other control functions and understand the presence of risks in every function;
• To work with control functions and advise the Firm on all the risks of the Firm;
• To review and update the Risk Matrix of the Firm;
• To formulate (if required), review and update the Risk Register of the Firm;
• To engage every function within the Firm, understand the risks within each of these functions and ensure solutioning & mitigations are in place at all times, in harmony with the team;
• To communicate clearly to every functions\' heads on the prevailing risks and how these risks are to be addressed and managed. Where there is a residual risks, to work with the function heads on how to address these residual risk;
• To prepare periodic reports to the Board Audit & Risk Committee and Board of Directors
• To formulate (if required), revise and update the Firm\'s Risk Management Policy as well as the other relevant policies and procedures (Business Continuity, Crisis Mgt., etc.);
• To advise and obtain approval from the Board with regard to the risk appetite of the Firm;
• To work closely with Group Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk & Resilience, Security & Governance in Group Technology and other respective functions and prepare any report expected to be provided to Group;
• To provide training to employees of the Firm from time to time regarding presence of new risks.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Finance or any equivalent degree.
• More than 10-15 years experience in risk management for financial industry, preferably working in DFSA
• or ADGM\'s environment;
• Knowledge about Basel Committee\'s principles that are applicable for the business;
• Excellent in both oral and written communication, particularly in English language;
• Able to solve complex issue;
• Adaptability and pragmatic in managing day to day work and prioritise matter effectively.

Skills

• Able to build an understanding of the Firm\'s and Group businesses and the co-relation of these businesses and the prevailing risks;
• Have thorough understanding with regard to the DFSA risk management framework;
• Be able to identify any new risks that will have impact on the Firm\'s businesses and operations;
• Willing to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Be able to communicate and articulate matters clearly including able to explain the identified risks, their implication to the Firm\'s business and operation and able to make recommendations to both the Senior Managers and Board on how to resolve the risks.
