Job Description

SCOPE OF JOB Supervises a team of lifting personnel includes riggers & crane operators in process and non-process areas of a Gas plant. Familiar with EPTW system, HSE requirements, knowledgeable on all kinds of lifting tools, tackles, cranes and other heavy lifting equipment which are used in Gas process plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Directs, control & coordinates with riggers & crane operators for the execution of lifting activities in the process and non-process areas of gas process plant. 2) To liaise with Client CPLO (Competent Personnel for Lifting Operations) for the coordination and approvals of heavy lifts undertaken in the plant facilities. 3) Performs Task Risk assessment TRA of all critical rigging & lifting jobs on plant site. 4) Performs rigging calculations, lifting plans and ensures that all lifting activities carried out in the plant facilities are handled effectively and safely, adhering to corporate safety standards and procedures. 5) Familiar with electronic permit to work system in a gas process plant, And shall able to pass the client PTW training in the responsibility of Performing Authority Supervisor, in order to apply permits related to all lifting activities like PSV removal & installation, EOT crane testing, etc. 6) Actions required for replacement/up-gradation of lifting equipment and improve work methods. 7) Responsible for devising all lifting plans within the onshore /offshore plant operations. 8) Adept in exercise with all types of bundle pullers during repairing the tube & shell type heat exchangers. 9) Responsible for PM for all lifting equipment. 10) Reports all accidents, incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE Department if supervisor/manager is not available.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Educational Requirements / Qualifications: - Minimum of higher secondary level or 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. - Training and Certification in "Safe rigging & slinging Supervisor Certification" Program. - Shall be at least 30 years of age and physically fit. Experience: - Knowledgeable and skilled to use, maintenance & statutory testing / inspection, colour coding etc of lifting equipment (cranes), tools/tackles and loose gear. - Have strong administrative and supervisory skills to monitor and control the rigging personnel and lifting operations. - Training in Fire and Safety/First aid with regards to hazardous areas and materials is a definite asset. - Good knowledge of reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English language - Minimum of 8 years rigging experience in lifting activates of Oil and Gas Industry, with at least 3 years supervisory experience
